ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION SELF-HELP PROGRAM
– 6 Weeks

This course is for those living with arthritis and their
care givers. It covers all types of arthritis and related conditions.

Grace Cottage Hospital’s “Eat Better, Move
More” participants take a group walk, measuring steps with
pedometers, then gather for a healthy snack and nutrition discussion.

FALL PREVENTION CLINIC - ONGOING
Falls are not a normal part of aging. Ask your primary
care provider to refer you to the clinic in Grace Cottage’s
Wolff Outpatient Building. Learn how to improve your physical condition,
and how to compensate for conditions that cannot be improved. Assessments
are covered by Medicare and most insurance. For information call

Healthier Living Workshop –

For those with a chronic condition and their caregivers.

The 9th Annual Poker Walk is a free, two-mile fun walk/run to encourage
everyone to exercise. Playing cards distributed along the way, and
prizes awarded for the best hands. Held rain or shine. Register

include dealing with loss, finances, parenting and communication

STRONG BONES EXERCISE CLASS –

This 12-week strength and balance exercise program helps older adults
live independently by improving strength, balance, emotional well
being, and bone health. Appropriate for sedentary or active individuals.

INTRODUCTION TO TAI CHI

The soft flowing movements of Tai Chi can improve all aspects of
life, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Susan Hebson has taught
for 13 years. This beginner’s workshop covers the 12 Forms
of Sun Style Tai Chi. Open to people of all ages and abilities.

TOUR de GRACE BICYCLE RALLY
Route: Stratton Mountain Base Lodge Parking Lot to Grace Cottage
Hospital
Choose the 19-mile scenic, mostly downhill Family Ride, or the 22-mile
Experienced Rider Route on hilly terrain. Riders under 12 must ride
with an adult; all riders must wear helmets. Busses transport riders
and bikes back to Stratton. $25 entry fee benefits Grace Cottage
Hospital. Register on race day at Stratton Base Lodge parking lot.

Watchers of the Adirondacks
Location: Grace Cottage Hospital Dining/Community Room
Grace Cottage Hospital is the first in the Northeast to
offer the Weight Watchers Family Program. Based on a four-year pilot,
it has proven successful in helping families create a healthy-weight
home that emphasizes healthy eating and activity, rather than “dieting.”
A Blue Cross Blue Shield grant covers half of the $250 cost; each
family pays $125 (no insurance required). Advance registration required:
