AUXILIARY NEWS
Preparations are well under way for the 58th Annual Grace Cottage
Hospital Fair Day on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Auction and white
elephant goods are being picked up practically on a daily basis.
If you have anything to donate, please call Stan Holt at 365-4455.
We are particularly interested in works of art for the auction.
As in the past, if we receive art which we believe won’t attract
high bids at the Fair, we enroll it with Skinner Auctions in Boston.
In the Skinner May auction, a very nice portrait by Dewitt Lockman
sold for $2,500.
All the old favorites will be back at the Fair this year: the Baby
Parade; all-day Auction; 22 bargain booths with books, white elephant,
plants, and baked goods; free pony rides; the gourmet booth; entertainment
all day long; Friesan horse and buggy rides up Route 35; Bingo,
and the Chicken BBQ, just to mention a few crowd-pleasers.

Fairgoers always enjoy entertainment throughout the day.
What’s new at the Fair this year? Ed the Wizard will perform
his magic tricks at 12:30 p.m. in the gazebo and while wandering
the Common throughout day, he’ll entertain adults and children
alike. After dinner, cake and ice cream will be served, free to
everyone waiting for the start of the evening Grafton Coronet Band
concert.
Volunteers are the backbone (and hands and feet) of this event.
Call Barb Barber (365-4707) if you can work a few hours on Saturday.
If Saturday is not possible, consider set-up on Friday afternoon
or Sunday morning clean-up.
We hope to see you, your family, your cousins, your neighbors, and
your friends for a sunny day at the Fair!
