On Saturday, May 19, forty Otis Health Care Center and Grace Cottage
Foundation board members, medical staff members, and senior leadership
met from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. to discuss the future.
To help carry out the mission of promoting the health and well-being
of the community, a five-year strategic plan is being developed,
with goals that can be measured on an annual basis. The intent of
the plan is to ensure that Grace Cottage is able to meet the changing
needs of the community today and in the future.
Development of the plan has begun with a community
needs survey and the day-long retreat. Further clarification
of the goals developed at the retreat is taking place now, and the
ten goals that have been identified will be outlined in the next
issue of Cottage Door.

Harvard School of Public Health provided a fascinating insight
into the U.S. health care system with specific detail about
patient safety, which is Dr. Leape’s specific interest.
