| Heins Home Celebrates 25th Birthday
In 1978, Ruth Heins, who had retired
to Townshend in the mid-1950’s and
until her death was active in community
affairs, willed her home to Grace
Cottage. During the past twenty-five
years, over one hundred residents have
called Heins Home their home-awayfrom-
home. Currently there are thirteen
people residing at Heins Home,
with a staff of eight full-time employees
who cover three shifts daily. All
meals and snacks are prepared for residents
in the Heins Home kitchen, and
laundry service is provided. In addition,
assistance with medications and
personal care is provided, if needed.
Residents may decorate their rooms as
they choose, and daily activities, such
as bingo, current events, shuffleboard,
sing-alongs and other forms of entertainment
are provided for Heins Home
residents at Grace Cottage Adult Day
Services.
