HEALTHCARE IN VERMONT IS “TOPS” IN THE NATION
Vermont recently ranked second in the nation (after New Hampshire)
for care provided to the Medicare population, and Grace Cottage
received a congratulatory letter and a plaque thanking us for our
“commitment and dedication to health care delivery which contributed
to this ranking.” The measurement was of seven major clinical
areas of care representing diseases that are major sources of mortality
for the Medicare population.
PHYSICIAN UPDATE
One year ago, Dr. Kimona Alin joined the staff of Grace Cottage
Family Health. A lot has happened in a year—she married Jim
Sweeney of West Dover, Vermont, and they built a new home in East
Dover. Dr. Alin is accepting new patients, as are all of our physicians
& practitioners, with the exception of Dr. Bob Backus (see
Dr. B’s letter).

Mayla Brown, LPN, who has nursed thousands of patients at Grace
Cottage during the 37 years that she has been employed here, is
now a Grace Cottage patient, recuperating from extensive leg injuries
received in an August motorcycle accident in Newfane. She’s
being treated like royalty...just like every other patient at Grace
Cottage!
